Adopt PEPE (Mexico) yo, bonded w/ LAYLA a Poodle (Miniature) / Jack Russell

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hi there, my name is Pepe and here is some info about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 11 monthsGender: MaleWeight: 4 kgHeight: 38 cmAlways the first one to greet you when you come home... I will jump up and down with excitement. My mom was lost and trying to cross a highway in Mexico one evening and was hit by a car. She lay unconscious in the road, but luckily my foster dad was walking along the highway and ran out quickly to stop the oncoming traffic before she got run over again. She only suffered a few scrapes and bruises, but was covered in fleas and was a bag of bones. She was someone’s pet, but must have gotten lost and was living on the streets for a while. She recovered and gained weight… maybe a little too much weight. My mom was actually pregnant with me and my 3 siblings. I was born secretly during the night. I grew up with my brothers and my foster’s dad other rescue dog and cat.So having a home with another dog to keep me company is important. My brother and I are truly hoping to be adopted together. It would be spectacular if my sister, Layla (also posted), and I were adopted together. We've never been apart.I’m usually the first one to push my brothers and sisters out of the way to get my head rubbed. I’m also the naughty one to boss my brothers and sisters around in the playpen. Hey, some of us have natural leadership skills.I love putting my paws on your chest and giving you puppy kisses on your lips or face. I’m very protective of the house and I like to warn off strangers or other passing dogs. You'll find me a happy, playful boy full of affection: https://youtu.be/EEbOj8dESFc . I give off a vibrant vibe of love.Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, likely yesKids: unknownFears: loud noises and strangers when strolling outside. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: noneLeash skills: no. I don't pull on the leash though. Please be prepared to train meHouse trained: mostly. I pee and poop outside pretty reliably. Help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated. Our adoption fee is $1600.00 CAD plus applicable taxes for both of us together. This includes our transportation to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1857869##
