Read about our adoption process on our website. Paxton was discovered at an apartment complex parking lot, trying to survive. He was wary of people and played with a very bad case of mange. He was obviously starved, and in dire need of rescue help. The help he needed finally came, and he was saved from the streets of San Antonio. It took months of vet visits, antibiotics and dedicated fosters to get Pax looking and feeling his best. Paxton is a survivor and he has bloomed under foster care, showing love and kindness. He loves other dogs and people and has been waiting for months for his fairytale ending. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.Shelter locationWe do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.
