Hi all, my name is Dozer. I am just about the easiest going and happiest dog you will ever meet. I was found as a stray in Texas and right away I was best buddies with my rescuers. In fact I consider everybody I meet a long lost friend. I am a 1 year old, medium size Australian Kelpie mix. In my current living situation, I have been allowed to free feed so I am a bit overweight right now. At 65 lbs I am probably about 10 pounds overweight. But that just means there is more of me to hug. And I very much love to be hugged. I am a very friendly dog who loves everyone I meet - both dogs and people. And I am good with cats as well as I do what they love best - I ignore them. The same is true for livestock who I have no interest in chasing. In fact, I recently came across a nest of baby rabbits while on a walk. I lay down beside them to protect them from any other dogs in the area. Gentle and loving is what I am all about. I love to play, love to ride in a car, love to eat and love to please my people.. Yep, I am quite the lover alright. Between my food motivation and my eagerness to please, I am very easy to train. I would do well in just about any home as what I want more than anything is to love and be loved. You would be hard pressed to find a happier, more agreeable dog than me. My adoption fee is $800. I am neutered and vaccinated. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age.
