Adopt DREE (LOCAL) - mt/kt a Labrador Retriever / Husky dog in Langley

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hi there. My name is DUSTIN (Dost) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Lab/Husky mix, may e even a tad of Boxer.Age: 8 months oldGender: MaleWeight: 28 kgHeight: 47 cmHighlights: intelligent, playful, friendly, easy-goingPlayful and entertaining is my forte. You'll be pleased to know I am a happy learner. Being quite intelligent will lend to my catching on to tricks rapidly. My rescuer found me next to a waste container downtown in the capital of Turkey. Being a very crowded place, no one realised I was there, except my rescuer. When my rescuer found me I was 2 months old. She thought that I was dead and thrown there. But somewhat later she realised that I was just passed out. I was so dehydrated and my jaw was broken. She took me to a vet and I spent all my babyhood in a vet clinic. I got my jaw operated on and stayed in the vet clinic during my 2 month post-op period. Then, I was placed with a sitter, where I can socialize with my cat and dog friends https://youtu.be/igmzb4Ur-aI . I already have a dog bestie there. Even though I love playing with him, I dream of a loving and warm home, where I will get proper attention and care.I am an easy-going, friendly with everyone boy - people, dogs, and cats. Sometimes my enthusiasm causes me to gently nibble. But I am a sweet guy, who will make a terrific companion. I am not overly active, rather just right actually. I don't need miles a day of exercise. I walk gently on leash, only sometimes softly pulling to the direction where I want to sniff.I haven't been with kids, but given my demeanor, it is likely I would be fine with respectful children. We could be best friends. Grandparents in the house, no problem... as a gentleman, I won't bowl them over.I'm a nugget awaiting my jackpot home.Energy Level: ModerateFears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. No prey drive observed.Training: leash, house trainingLeash skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I had a jaw operation. The vets implanted a fixer tool to my jaw. When they were removing the tool, a medical wire, used to fix the tool to the jaw, was left there. The vet says it doesn’t give any harm. A letter can be procured from the vet if needed. https://youtu.be/wXPESOqUENs .I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1703242##
