Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Say hey hey. My name is SAYHEY (Sihay) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Lab mixAge: 1 year, femaleWeight: 19 kgHeight: tbdHighlight(s): friendly, loooves people, cuddlerSay Hey, here I am, a girl so full of life... active, friendly and I love, love, love people. So my story is a bit sad, my family abandoned me a short time ago in a village in Turkey. I don’t understand why they abandoned me, since I am so pretty and a good girl. Possibly because inflation is so bad here and my previous family no longer had the have money to feed me.A few days ago (july), I was feeling very afraid, because some large male dogs were following me. Thankfully a loving human found me and took me to the vet for med assessment and spaying. Glad I can’t have babies anymore, since they probably would have starved, taken to a shelter infested with diseases or killed by bad people. A few days after the operation this human left me where she found me and gave me some food and water, but I found out where she lives and I am now hanging around that area.My rescuer gives me water and food. I am not allowed inside her garden, I don’t like that, but I understand because she already has so many dogs. I am allowed on the front porch at night for safety. At first my rescuer was angry that I was following her home, but I think she now understands that I am afraid of being by myself. I have nowhere else to go, so she told me she was going to try and help me. I always follow my human and her dogs when they go for walks and I love playing with one specifically. She is now my best friend and we run and run together. It’s funny because I am so much faster than her and she can’t catch me. https://youtu.be/6NbI7_zNEI0 , https://youtu.be/kF1Daoew1As , https://youtu.be/kF1Daoew1As .Still sad that I was abandoned, but my rescuer told me that she can bring me to Canada in December, if she finds someone that can adopt me... please, please help me, I hear people are very nice in Canada and they won’t hurt me. Did you know, my name means black in my language? Go figure, hunh? Hahaa.I am a sweet, svelte pup with long elegant legs and I LOVE cuddles. My teeth are white and perfect. There is construction around and I am afraid of someone trying to hit me with a car. I'm intelligent and try to steer clear. Please help me.An active home might suit me well. One with lots of snuggles.Energy Level: moderate to moderate highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknownFears: Construction traffic. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1778547##
