Adopt KHALILI (Mid-East) yo a Brown/Chocolate - with White Australian Shepherd

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Happy happy, joy joy. My name is Khalili (Li Li) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Australian Shepard mixAge: 1 yrGender: femaleWeight: 55 lbsHeight: 22-1/2 inchesHighlight(s): bonds well, amiable, sweet, little timidI am a lovely dog, who is amiable to dogs & people, including kids. I bond quite well.As a loyal stray, I used to follow my rescuer every time I saw her walking along the street. One day she found me seriously sick at the side of the road. I had an internal infection. She took me to the vet, where I was hospitalized. After a lengthy treatment, I fully recovered.Being such a sweet dog, my rescuer did not feel I could survive on the streets on my own, so she brought me home with her, where I am now living with hers and other dogs she has rescued until I find my forever family.I love long walks in the snow and the woods. I am a little timid riding in the car yet. I just need to get used to it, so I feel safe.It appears I was abused as a puppy, thus I get scared from quick movement of hands and leashes around my neck. A harness is much better. Although I don't seem to mind cats I've seen. I barked a bit at them at first, but then chilled out and pretty well ignored them. So, quite likely I can live with them, if given proper intro.A home with people willing to give me time to adjust and provide me with training is my fervent hope. A buddy pup would be fine by me, but I am also happy if we are pals to go out for adventures, as well. If there are older kids, I'd make a super companion for them.Energy Level: moderate to moderate-highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: quite likely, see videoKids: yesFears: Quick hand motions, leash connected on my collar. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: not muchLeash skills: some harness work. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1730801##
