Colette (middle East) Yo, Jack Russell Terrier For Adoption In Langley

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hello everyone! My name is Colette, and here is some info about me:Breed: Jack Russell terrier mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 11 kgHeight: 35 cmHighlights: love people, rarely bark, very intelligent I am such a precious little girl! You'll find I really love people. This is my story. I was adopted by a family when I was just a small puppy. They would keep me at their villa in the garden. They dropped me off at a pet hospital late at night and left me there with a note and phone number of a lady they knew was involved in Dog Rescue. I was basically abandoned at the vet. I had many wounds and infections on my body from being left outside. The vet hospital gave me medication and shaved me and my family didn’t even pay the bills. Fortunately the vet hospital called the lady, whose information was on the piece of paper and she came and picked me up and placed me in a boarding facility. I have been living there ever since. I get along very well with the dogs there and also with people. I have had a very bad experience with people, but I still have a sweet demeanor. Unfortunately, though because of my experience, I start shaking when someone wants to get too close to me. Despite this, I hardly ever bark, and I’m not aggressive at all. When someone gets close to me and touches me, I begin to trust them very quickly. In general, I’m a sweet girl and I also get along with children. Please adopt me! I’m really hoping you can change my perception of having a family. Where I was before was definitely not my idea of having parents who love me. I hope to see you in Canada soon! Energy level: moderate Prey drive: none observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me. should these behaviors arise Fears: because of my bad experience with people, I shake when someone gets too close to me. However, I quickly begin to trust them if they are nice to me. Please be patient with me during my transition. Training: house skillls and some leashLeash training: a bit. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchip. I initially had many wounds on my body from being left outside, but I am perfectly healed now. My adoption fee is 850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes transportation to Canada, if accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. ##2004441##Adoption processWe offer a foster to adopt program for adopters of overseas dogs. As they will be taking their dog home straight from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit. In the rare times the dog isn’t found suitable we will find the dog another home.
